Environment

Protecting what sustains community life, and preparing communities for a climate that has already changed.

The problem

Mozambique is paying a bill it did not run up

Cyclones, floods and droughts hit the country with a frequency that is no longer exceptional. At the same time, pressure on forests, soil and water keeps rising because many families have no alternative.

Talking about the environment without talking about income solves nothing. That is why we always tie the environmental component to concrete livelihood alternatives.

Nobody protects a forest on an empty stomach. Conservation has to come with an alternative.

What we do

Lines of work

01

Environmental education

Programmes in schools and communities on waste, water, energy and biodiversity. A free online environmental course platform is in preparation.

02

Waste management

Support for local collection, separation and reuse solutions, run with community groups.

03

Reforestation and soils

Planting suitable species, protecting water catchments, and farming practices that do not exhaust the soil.

04

Climate adaptation

Preparing communities for extreme events: early warning, local plans and stronger water and food sources.

We are looking for partners in this area
