Education

Training that opens real doors: better results at school, better prepared teachers, and skills that lead to a job or a business.

The problem

Being enrolled is not the same as learning

Mozambique has come a long way in getting children into school. The step that remains is making sure they learn, that they finish, and that what they learn is worth something afterwards.

For young people and adults the obstacle is different: good technical training is still expensive and concentrated in the cities.

Training only counts when it changes something in the life of the person who received it. The rest is a certificate.

What we do

Lines of work

01

School support

Support to schools with teaching materials, basic learning conditions and catch-up activities in reading and mathematics.

02

Teacher development

Continuous training for teachers in teaching methods, assessment and classroom management, in coordination with district education authorities.

03

Free technical and vocational training

Practical, free courses for young people and adults, focused on skills the Mozambican labour market actually asks for. Designed to work at a distance as well.

04

Scholarships and mentoring

Support for students with merit and without means, with follow-up rather than a simple transfer of funds.

We are looking for partners in this area

Schools, education authorities, training institutions and funders who want to invest in skills.
