A Mozambican foundation, built to last
Fundação Impacto Global (FIG) is a private non-profit institution under Mozambican law, with its head office in Maputo City and a national scope of work.
It began with a simple observation
In Mozambique, problems do not arrive one at a time. A community without sanitation has more disease. More disease means fewer days in school. Less schooling means fewer opportunities and more pressure on natural resources.
Many organisations tackle one piece at a time. FIG was established to work on the pieces together, through a multi-sector model that acts on health, education and the environment at the same time and in the same community.
We are not a stand-alone delivery organisation. Our model rests on strategic partnerships with government, civil society organisations, the private sector and institutional funders.
Mission
To advance human development in Mozambique through integrated work in health, education and the environment, delivered with technical rigour and in partnership with public, private and community institutions.
Vision
A Mozambique where the place you are born does not decide your access to health, to education and to a healthy environment.
Values
Integrity and transparency. Technical rigour and evidence-based decisions. Closeness to communities. Partnership before prominence. Sustainability of what we build.
What our Statutes require of us
Article 5 of the Statutes: «FIG’s purpose is to promote sustainable social and economic development in Mozambique, working across sectors, notably in health, education and the environment, through strategic partnerships and resource mobilisation, without prejudice to other areas of intervention relevant to the pursuit of its aims.»
In practice, that means the following areas.
- Health – health promotion, disease prevention and support for access to care
- Education and training – school support, capacity building and vocational training
- Environment – environmental protection, awareness and climate adaptation
- Community development – initiatives that strengthen community self-reliance
- Research and knowledge applied to the Mozambican context
- Resource mobilisation through partnerships and institutional cooperation
What is not measured does not improve, and what is not published nobody believes. Anyone who entrusts resources to FIG will know, in numbers, what changed and where. That is the commitment this foundation was built on.

Governing bodies
FIG is governed by two bodies, as set out in its Statutes.
Board of Directors
FIG’s governing and representative body. It sets strategy, approves the annual plan and budget, authorises project delivery and is accountable for day-to-day management. It is chaired by the Founder, with succession designated in writing under the Statutes.
Supervisory Board
The oversight body. It verifies the regularity of accounts and financial management, issues an opinion on the annual report and accounts, and ensures compliance with the Statutes and the law.
