How to support FIG
There is more than one way to help, and not all of them involve money. What we ask in every case is the same: that we are able to account for what we did with the support we received.
Choose the one that fits you
One-off or regular donation
Any amount counts. A regular donation, even a small one, is worth more to FIG than a single payment, because it lets us plan the work months ahead.
Institutional support
For companies, development agencies and foundations. A specific programme is funded, with objectives and indicators agreed in writing and a report at the end.
In-kind support
School materials, computer equipment, in-date medicines, transport, printing, space for training sessions. Very often this is what unblocks a project.
Time and expertise
Professionals in health, education, environment, monitoring and evaluation, accounting or communications who can give a few hours a month. That is real support.

Where your support goes
We are not asking for blind trust. We are asking to be judged by what we publish.
We are a new foundation with no track record yet. That is precisely why these rules were written on day one, and not after the first problem.
- Every contribution is applied to the purpose it was given for. Support health and it goes to health
- Accounts are reviewed by the Supervisory Board before any publication
- We publish an annual report and accounts, showing the source and use of funds
- Every project has indicators set up front and a report at the end, including what did not work
- FIG distributes no profit. All surplus goes back into its statutory purpose
- We issue a donation receipt on request
Before you give
Can I choose which area to support?
Yes. You can specify health, education or environment and we will allocate the amount to that area. If you do not specify, the contribution goes into FIG’s general fund and is used where the need is greatest.
Is there a minimum amount?
No. A small regular donation is more useful to us than a large one-off payment.
Can I give from outside Mozambique?
Yes. Once FIG’s account is active we will also publish the details for international transfers. In the meantime, write to us and we will explain the route.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we issue a donation receipt on request. On possible tax benefits, we suggest you confirm your own position with an accountant, since it depends on your tax status.
My company wants to support you. Where do we start?
With the Partnerships page. Corporate support works better as an agreed programme, with objectives and a report, than as a loose donation.
How do I know the money was well used?
Through the Transparency page, where we publish the annual report and accounts and the reports for each project. And you can always write and ask.
