FIG – Fundação Impacto Global is formally established and its website goes live today. This first post is here to say plainly what we are, what we are not yet, and what comes next.
What we are
We are a non-profit foundation under Mozambican law, with our head office in Maputo City and a national scope of work. We work in three areas that we have decided not to separate: health, education and the environment.
That is not rhetoric. A child who falls ill misses school. A community without clean water falls ill. A family without income cuts down the forest next to it. Treating these problems in separate offices is an expensive way of not solving them.
What we are not yet
We do not yet have completed projects to show, nor annual reports, nor numbers of beneficiaries. We could fill this website with photographs and promises. We would rather not.
What we do have is a formal structure with approved statutes and constituted governing bodies, a defined mission, and a written method: diagnose, design with indicators, deliver with partners, measure and publish. Everything else follows, and it will come with data.
What comes next
- Completing registration and publishing the names of the members of the governing bodies.
- Identifying the first communities and carrying out baseline assessments.
- Formalising the first institutional and delivery partnerships.
- Launching the free online course platform on environmental topics.
- Publishing the first Annual Plan and Budget.
How to take part
We are looking for institutional partners, funders, local organisations already on the ground, and professionals willing to contribute time and expertise. If that is you, see the Partnerships page or write to us through the contact form.
This news section will follow the Foundation’s work, including what does not go as we hoped. That is the commitment.
